📅 March Monthly Log!

March was another slow month since the Daiya no Ace brain rot was, and still is, a little too real.

I’ve watched all of Daiya no Ace, and my emotions are currently at an all-time high. (laughs) I’m letting my brain rest before starting the manga from the very beginning (*sarcasm* because I apparently enjoy putting myself through emotional turmoil for the nth time).

Per usual, I’ll put a “Read More” bar for easy blog scrolling.

📺 ANIME>> 7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!

Hello and welcome to the first of six posts that I have planned this year! In typical Hiba fashion, I might change how I write these, but I’m not sure what that means yet. I guess we’ll find out together when the time comes. (laughs) Since I have five more posts to write, I don’t want to overdo it and burn myself out.

ANYWAY. That’s enough about my writing woes. It’s February, so I thought it would be fun to start with a romance series!

🌸 Year End Update + Thank You!

Hello everyone~

As 2024 comes to a close, I wanted to give some updates for what’s to come as well as a big thank you to those who stopped by to read my posts. As mentioned at the beginning of the year, this was something I decided to do to help me be more vocal about the things that I enjoy, and I think I accomplished what I set out to do.

First, the December monthly log will be posted this coming Monday. It won’t be as long as the previous logs, but I hope you still check it out.

I wrote about it in the December log, but I’ll mention it here as well. I sat down this month and pulled six series that I would like to write individual posts for. (How exciting!) The plan is to post one every other month beginning February.

Next, I will continue to write my monthly logs, but there will be a minor change to how I format them. I promise you won’t even notice, but I wanted to give you guys a heads-up anyway. Since I plan to post a bit more next year, they probably won’t be as lengthy, which I think will be better for everyone in the long run (myself included).

Thanks again for sticking it out with me and I hope everyone has a happy new year! 😊

Until next time! Bye bye~

📅 November Monthly Log!

Where is the time going? The year is almost over! (laughs)

Per usual, I’ll put a “Read More” bar for easy blog scrolling. Eventually, I’m going to have to sit down and figure out what series will get their own posts. I have my eye on a few of them, but I gotta find time to actually write about them. I guess that’ll be a future me problem. 😅

That being said, here’s November!

📅 September Monthly Log!

A new month means it’s time for another monthly log! I did a little bit of a visual update on my blog since the previous theme made the accompanying pictures and words too squished for my liking. Hopefully, it’ll be a little easier to read going forward! Per usual, I’ll put a “Read More” bar for easy blog scrolling.

I’ll be testing out a new writing format because I wasn’t super happy with how I handled the previous month’s log. It’s hard for me to find a good balance between writing about everything I want to write and my feelings on the subject, but I’ll figure it out eventually so I can make everyone’s lives easier (including my own).

📅 August Monthly Log!

Since these posts will probably be much longer than they have been, I’ll put a “Read More” line so it’ll be easier to filter through my posts going forward (I know I should’ve done that from the start, so please take this delayed apology). They’ll also be structured weekly rather than daily. I would not subject you guys to daily because that would be insane. And I absolutely do not want these posts to be a mile long (they’re already long enough as it is). I like my sanity, thank you very much.

That being said, here’s everything I did in August!

📒 Weekly Log! (7/29 – 7/31)

Update 10/2/24: Added a “Read More” line.

Monday, 7/29/24

Touken Ranbu:

I collected the final event reward, so I’m officially done running the event!

Twisted Wonderland:

The Birthday Leona card hasn’t come yet, but I’m gonna keep trying! And yes, I’ve already spent money to buy more gems for pulls. Don’t judge me! (laughs)

Tuesday, 7/30/24

Touken Ranbu:

~ So, uh, another event started today. I probably should’ve paid more attention to the socials, but oh well. It’s too late now. (laughs) I’m still waiting for the wiki page to be updated with the event details, but since I wanted to get a headstart, I’ve already started my runs. I get Ishida Masamune as an event reward, and he’s one that I don’t have yet!

~ Smithing campaign for Onimaru Kunitsuna (another sword I don’t have!) started today as well! After about 70 tries (and so many resources), he came home!

📒 Weekly Log! (7/22 – 7/28)

Update 10/2/24: Added a “Read More” line.

Monday, 7/22/24

Honkai Star Rail:

It’s officially gem-saving time. Sorry Argenti, but I’ll have to pull for you another time. I have until around mid to the end of August to save up, which should be around when Jiaoqiu’s banner goes live. I’m still not sure when Moze will be pullable, but needless to say, I am in danger. I want these boys to come home so badly. (laughs) Since I refuse to spend money on this game, I embarrassingly pulled out my calculator to see how many gems I could get from doing my dailies and weeklies.

Twisted Wonderland:

Guess who forgot that Leona’s birthday is this month. Me. The answer is me. In my haste to pull another SSR Savanna Leona card, I forgot that I was supposed to be saving for his birthday cards. Oops. While I try not to spend money on this game…I am not above spending money on this game. (laughs) I think right now, it’s only TWST and Touken Ranbu that I’m willing to spend my money on, and I plan to keep it that way if I can help it.

There are three birthday Leona cards that I can pull, but I’m going to try for this one! He’s just so pretty~

📒 Weekly Log! (7/15 – 7/21)

Update 10/2/24: Added a “Read More” line.

Monday, 7/15/24

Paper Mario TTYD:

Chapter 5 (Keelhaul Key) is done! I was a little stupid at certain parts because I forgot where the boat platforms were, and fighting Cortez took two tries since I was most definitely not prepared for his third phase. (laughs) It was getting late, so I started Chapter 6 (Excess Express and Poshley Heights), but didn’t progress any further than that.

Update 10/2/24: Added a “Read More” line.

Monday, 7/8/24

Recovery period from Anime Expo (laughs)

Tuesday, 7/9/24

Twisted Wonderland:

Cloudcalling on the Savanna event has begun, and so do my pulls for the SSR Leona event card. I did my first 10-pull and got the SR Kalim event card and the SSR Dorm Uniform card for Trey. I did a few more “solo yolo” pulls and was unsuccessful. It wasn’t until my lunch break (I was in-office today) that I did another “solo yolo” pull while waiting for my lunch to heat up. I almost screamed in front of my coworkers when I pulled the SSR Leona event card. He looks soooo pretty and I’m embarrassed at how long I stared at his card when I pulled him. Looking at the image below, though, can you really blame me? (laughs)

📒 Weekly Log! (7/1 – 7/7)

Monday, 7/1/24

Sugar Apple Fairy Tale:

And with that, my rewatch is complete~ Ahh, so many emotions wrapped into a neat little package for me. (laughs) That being said, I really want to look into the light novels for this series (the original source material hehe). But man, it feels good to get back to watching anime. I wonder what I’ll watch next?

Touken Ranbu (anime):

The next anime I chose to watch was the Touken Ranbu anime (Touken Ranbu Kai: Kyoden)! Well, one of them, at least. (laughs) It’s actually supposed to be the anime adaptation of the first Touken Ranbu stage play! I remember watching bits and pieces of the stage play on YouTube way back when, so I’m glad I was finally able to watch it in anime form!

It was only eight episodes, too, so I watched it all in one sitting. I believe there’s one more Hanamaru season I need to watch (season 3!), but I don’t see it listed on Crunchyroll, which is weird considering the first two seasons are. That being said, I really hope they’re able to adapt more stage plays into anime (or even the musicals!) because I would totally watch it! At the end of the last episode, they did tease the plot of the subsequent stage play (the Date swords). So I’m hopeful that the next installment will come eventually!

Tuesday, 7/2/24 to Sunday, 7/6/24

Since Tuesday and Wednesday were spent packing for Anime Expo (and taking the train to LA after work on Wednesday), I really didn’t do anything except AX prep. And then Thursday to Sunday was Anime Expo weekend. I did the bare minimum for HSR, Twisted Wonderland, and Touken Ranbu (no WUWA since it was just too many games to keep track of). For the sake of my sanity, I also did not watch any anime in my free time.

✨✨✨✨✨

I returned home by train on Sunday afternoon and ended up taking it easy since I had to unpack my suitcase and sort out everything I bought. However, I’m excited for a new week to start! Lots of things I want to get back into, so we’ll see if I can get to them eventually! I want my days to have a little more variety so they don’t feel too same-y.

Until next time! Bye bye~

📒 Weekly Log! (6/24 – 6/30)

Update 10/2/24: Added a “Read More” line.

Monday, 6/24/24

Honkai Star Rail:

~ Pulling for Ruan Mei is a big struggle and I refuse to spend money on this game. (laughs) However, I’ve pulled Gallagher three times while trying for Ruan Mei, and was able to get him as a reward when I completed the Origami Bird event the other day. I also pulled Misha (twice!), who I’ve never pulled before, so that was fun.

~ More Divergent Universe runs! Started at level 28 and ended up at level 30. The gem farming is so real since I’m trying to pull Ruan Mei. My friend said she’d be a good addition to my team, so I’m trying. Not to mention there are other characters I want to pull for in the upcoming months, so I’m struggle bussing lol

Wuthering Waves:

~ I went around clearing quests and doing other things I should’ve been doing, but somehow didn’t (only because I didn’t know). Found out the hard way after chatting with my friend about it. I have a bit of catching up to do. (laughs)

~ Finally got around to completing the Jiyan companion quest. I left it hanging for so long, but man, was it so angsty. This man is just a different flavor of Dan Heng from Honkai Star Rail and I am here for it.

📒 Weekly Log! (6/17 – 6/23)

Update 10/2/24: Added a “Read More” line.

Since last week’s post had all the details of why I’m doing these logs, I’m just gonna jump right into it.

Monday, 6/17/24

Wuthering Waves: I completed an exploration quest to make the world a little easier to run around in. Then I worked on leveling up my Data Bank a little before my brain went, “You should work on building your characters.” And I went, “OH YEAH.” Since Calcharo is my main DPS, I’m starting with him first. He’s…getting there. I’m nowhere close to being done, but at least I can say I started.

Sugar Apple Fairy Tale: Started watching a little later than planned (I got distracted by WUWA and YouTube, okay), but I got through more episodes today! Lots of cute and angst all rolled into one little package. Wrapped up with a nice little bow and handed to me like it was my birthday (except it’s not my birthday). This series just makes me an emotional mess, but it’s okay because it’s all anticipated. I’m still having fun though, despite my emotions running rampant. (laughs) As of now, I have eight more episodes to go!

Tuesday, 6/18/24

I wasn’t able to do much today since I ended up going to my aunt’s house to help dogsit while she ran some errands. I also had a Discord call with a friend later in the evening. HOWEVER, the Nintendo Direct was today and, boy, was it PACKED. Many games were announced, but the most important one for me was the announcement for ACE ATTORNEY INVESTIGATIONS 1 & 2. We did it. We won. We finally have Ace Attorney Investigations 2 localized in English. We waited so long for this and I screamed when I saw the announcement. Like I do with every Ace Attorney collection, I preordered it on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and PS4 (aka the consoles that I own). Am I insane for doing that each and every time? Yes. Will I stop? No. I’m very normal about Ace Attorney, I swear. (laughs) HAPPY MILES EDGEWORTH DAY, EVERYONE.

I wanted to watch a few more episodes of “Sugar Apple Fairy Tale,” but I got too tired when my call with my friend ended. There was also an update in Honkai Star Rail today…which I didn’t get to because I was too tired to start the main story quest. Between Sugar Apple episodes, Honkai Star Rail main story, and Wuthering Waves character leveling, I’ll see what my brain feels like doing. I’ll get through everything eventually! (laughs)

📒 Weekly Log! (6/10 – 6/16)

Update 10/2/24: Added a “Read More” line.

Hello everyone! This idea came about while I was chatting with a friend and she suggested I could do something like a weekly log to give updates on what I’ve been watching, reading, and/or playing.

I’m not sure how I want to format these yet or how much detail I want to go for each item I include in these logs, but I’ll see what works and what doesn’t and go from there. Since I finally have more free time (after dropping a specific hobby that I will not go into), I would like an easy way to motivate myself to start doing the things I want to do. I also want to post more here, so that’s another reason why. Also (x2), you’ll get to see what I’ve been up to in between my longer posts!

That being said, let’s begin!

Monday, 6/10/24

Wuthering Waves: I unlocked co-op mode the other day and played with my friend for the first time today! Before I could switch to co-op mode, however, I was stuck in two quests. And WUWA will not let you enter co-op mode when you’re in the middle of certain quests. (Rude.)

Sooooo, we were on a Discord call together while I worked on finishing them. After completing those quests, we hopped into co-op mode and fought a few monsters before calling it a night. She was the heavier hitter, but she also helped me with material/Echo farming so I could strengthen my main team.

Still trying to pull for Jiyan with little luck ;~; My friend has him, but he has yet to come home for me. I was iffy about his character design at first, but he’s grown on me. I do have Calcharo, though, my silly little Sephiroth clone. My friend and I ran around the map as two long-haired edgy bois. (laughs)

Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory

Hello, everyone. Long time no chat.

I know this post is very overdue since I was planning for this to go out in March. Now it’s June. Oops. But as life would have it, I got busy. A particular hobby ended up taking over my life in a bad way and my brother got married last month. (I have since dropped said hobby because it was affecting my mental health in a way I did not like.)

Now that life has slowed down a bit, I would like to pick up blogging again, so thank you for being patient with me. It might be a bit before I can post on a more “regular basis” since I have to watch, read, and play things, but I’ll get there! (laughs)

Now that the preface is done, let’s get on with the post!

Update 10/2/24: Added a “Read More” line.
