Hello and welcome to the first of six posts that I have planned this year! In typical Hiba fashion, I might change how I write these, but I’m not sure what that means yet. I guess we’ll find out together when the time comes. (laughs) Since I have five more posts to write, I don’t want to overdo it and burn myself out.
ANYWAY. That’s enough about my writing woes. It’s February, so I thought it would be fun to start with a romance series!

Rishe Irmgard Weitzner finds herself in a familiar situation: her fiancΓ© is publicly breaking off their engagement, and her ducal family is about to disown her in shame. However, Rishe is not distraught; she has already had six chances to rebuild her life and chase a different passion each time. But she would always get swept up in a war and die, so now she wishes for her seventh reincarnation to be easygoing and uneventful.
What Rishe does not take into account is the presence of Arnold Hein, the crown prince of the Galkhein Kingdom. He is destined to usurp the throne and become a tyrant who starts a large-scale invasion of neighboring countries. To make their encounter worse, Arnold is the one who killed Rishe in her previous life. That is why it is all the more shocking when he proposes to Rishe on the spot. In pursuit of her desired life, Rishe must consider accepting Arnold’s proposal and discover the reasons behind his brutal actions to stop the war from ever happening.
~ Summary taken from the series’ MyAnimeList page
I’d first like to say that I can’t believe I almost passed over this series and I’m so glad that I didn’t. I have the few random clips I saw on the Crunchyroll youtube account to thank for that. (laughs) Let me tell you, when I heard Shimazaki Nobunaga’s voice coming out of the male lead’s mouth, I was instantly smitten. I crossed my fingers that the female lead wouldn’t be annoying, and I was pleasantly surprised that she wasn’t! Second, I want to say the title is really misleading. Enjoy that carefree life? Yes. But married to her worst enemy? Not quite.
I think when I initially wanted to pass on 7th Time Loop, it was because I saw the word ‘reincarnation’ and immediately thought it was an isekai (which is a genre I’m not that into). But after watching those youtube clips and actually reading the summary, I learned that the series was just a reincarnation story set in a fantasy world and not actually an isekai like I had initially thought.
Overall, the series was a great watch and even though this is a romance series (among other genres, of course), it didn’t really feel like one? After rewatching it last month in order to write this post, I was surprised at how few romance scenes there were. But I think that’s what had me internally fangirling when there was a romance scene. The romance scenes just hit that much better.
I loved that the series focused on Rishe and her past lives because while she only lived until 20 years old in each life, she actually puts that knowledge/experience to good use in her current life. And add in her growing relationship with Arnold (and vice versa)? Ugh, what a good combo. If a second season ever gets green lit, I will definitely be watching it.
But let’s move on to the main leads, shall we? I’m already smitten with Arnold, but what about the heroine? Rishe really surprised me, too! Because of her experiences in her past lives, she’s very self-sufficient and independent, and doesn’t rely on Arnold for anything. But that isn’t to say she’s perfect either. I’m excited to see how her 7th life will differ from her previous ones and how she’ll continue to grow as the series progresses!
I’m going to do my best to keep these posts on the shorter side, so last thing on the list is, of course, the opening and ending themes. …And boy, do I love these songs a lot. The graphics and animations are absolutely gorgeous (especially in the ending). The opening is called “Another Birthday” by Toki Shunichi and you can watch it here! The ending is “Kienai (ζΆγγͺγ)” by THE BINARY and you can watch it here! Not only did the episodes have me clutching my chest from the amount of cute I experienced, but so did the opening and ending themes! (laughs)

And that’s a wrap! One down, five more to go.
Going forward, I’m going to do my best to keep these concise and only talk about what I thought overall.
Until next time! Bye bye~
